Where and when are permits required?
In all district parking lots at Foothill, De Anza, and the Sunnyvale campus — during the day, evenings, and weekends, whenever a vehicle is parked on district property.
Do I need to display a permit or decal?
No. Your license plate serves as your digital permit. Keep it clearly visible while parked on campus.
How much does a permit cost?
Free for currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff. For visitors and guests: $3 per day, or $55 for a quarterly permit, unless the district has provided a pre-approved complimentary pass.
How do students and employees get a permit?
Sign in to the FHDA Permit Store with your CWID and password — do not create a new account — then add the pre-approved permit and register your vehicle. See Getting a Parking Permit - Students & Employees.
How do visitors get a permit?
Use the FHDA Visitor Permit Store. No account is required. See Getting a Parking Permit - Visitors & Guests.
Can I register more than one vehicle?
Students and employees can register multiple vehicles, but only one vehicle per account may be parked on any district campus at a time — vehicles parked simultaneously under the same account may each be cited. Visitors may register one vehicle per purchase, per permit.
What vehicle information is required?
License plate, state, year, color, make, model, and vehicle type. Every field is required.
What if I typed my license plate wrong?
A typo or incorrect plate number will result in a citation, and citations caused by incorrectly entered vehicle information will not be dismissed. Verify your plate carefully when registering.
I'm a student — why can't I sign in yet?
Wait at least one hour after registering for classes before signing in to iParq, so your registration information can transfer to the parking system.
Can employees request passes for visitors or guests?
Yes. Use the Pass Request for Visitors & Guests option on the Parking Permit tile on your MyPortal dashboard.
Does a permit let me exceed posted restrictions?
No. A permit does not override timed spaces, staff-designated areas, accessible parking requirements, or other posted rules.
Timed spaces
Foothill College has free timed parking spaces in Lot 8 and near the Campus Center. De Anza College has timed spaces in Lot A1 in front of the Registration & Student Services building. A parking permit does not extend or remove the posted time limit, and moving or re-parking within the timed area to extend your time is not allowed.
Student vs. staff parking
Staff parking spaces are marked in yellow; student spaces are marked in white. Students parked in staff lots or staff spaces may receive a citation.
Parking citations
Parking citations at Foothill, De Anza, and Sunnyvale are $45. Citations for accessible/disabled parking violations are $325. Citations issued by the district police department are legal citations and cannot be canceled by college administration.
You can look up, pay, or contest a parking citation online at fhda.rmcpay.com, available 24/7. Paper administrative review forms are available at the Foothill main police station or the De Anza police substation. Register before you park — and check your plate. Permits are enforced at all hours, and the two most common ways to get a citation with a "valid" permit are a typo in your license plate and having a second household vehicle on campus under the same account.
