Getting a Parking Permit - Visitors & Guests

This article is for visitors and guests parking at Foothill College, De Anza College, or the Sunnyvale campus, and for employees who need to arrange parking for their guests. Visitors must register their vehicle for a digital permit — your license plate is your permit, and nothing physical is displayed.

Permit types

Daily permit — $3 per day

For occasional visits. Valid only for the date(s) selected; you can select up to five dates at a time. Valid at all district locations.

Quarterly visitor permit — $55

For people who regularly visit district campuses. Valid for the applicable academic quarter at all district locations.

Pre-approved complimentary pass — free

For guests who have been given a pre-approval code by the district. Enter the code in the Pre-Approval Search at the top of the visitor permit store.

Purchase a permit

  1. Go to the FHDA Visitor Permit Store at fhdavisitor.thepermitstore.com. An account is not required — you can create one or continue with the anonymous guest sign-in.
  2. If you have a pre-approved code, enter it in the Pre-Approval Search at the top and click Search, then follow the prompts. Otherwise, click Select Dates, choose up to five dates, and click Update Cart with Selected Dates. For a quarterly permit, select the quarterly visitor permit option instead.
  3. Click Proceed to Checkout.
  4. Add your contact information.
  5. Click Add New Vehicle to Profile and enter your license plate, state, year, color, make, model, and vehicle type — all fields are required — then click Save Vehicle. Only one vehicle is allowed per purchase, per permit.
  6. Add your payment information, review your order, and click Place Order.
  7. Save or print the confirmation page. You will also receive an "Order Confirmation – Foothill-De Anza Community College District" email with your order number and vehicle summary.

Double-check your license plate before saving. A typo or incorrect license plate number will result in a parking citation, and citations caused by incorrectly entered vehicle information will not be dismissed.

Employees: request passes for your visitors

Employees may request visitor or guest parking passes through the district's online request process. Open the Parking Permit tile on your MyPortal dashboard and choose Pass Request for Visitors & Guests. Additional instructions are provided in the portal workflow approval form.

Rules to know

  • Daily permits are valid only for the date(s) selected; quarterly permits are valid only for the applicable quarter.
  • Keep your license plate clearly visible while parked on campus.
  • Permits are required in all district lots during the day, evenings, and weekends — not just business hours.
  • A permit does not override posted restrictions such as timed spaces or staff-only (yellow) spaces. See the parking permit FAQ.
