Getting a Parking Permit - Students & Employees

This article is for currently enrolled students and for faculty and staff at Foothill College, De Anza College, and the Sunnyvale campus. Parking permits are free for students and employees, and your license plate serves as your permit — there is nothing physical to display.

Before you start

  • Have your CWID and password ready. You will sign in with your regular district login — do not create a separate iParq account.
  • Have your vehicle details ready: license plate, state, year, color, make, model, and vehicle type. All fields are required.
  • Students: wait at least one hour after registering for classes before signing in to the permit store. This allows your registration information to transfer to the parking system.

Register your vehicle

  1. Log in to MyPortal and open the Parking Permit tile on your dashboard, then choose Get Your Parking Permit. This takes you to the FHDA Permit Store (iParq) and signs you in automatically.
  2. If you go directly to fhda.thepermitstore.com instead, click Sign In in the upper right corner and log in with your CWID and password when the district sign-in page appears. Either way, do not create a separate iParq account — your district login links automatically to your FHDA account.
  3. You will see either the Employee or the Student view. Click Add Item on the pre-approved parking permit.
  4. Click Proceed to Checkout.
  5. Select a vehicle from the drop-down menu, or click Add another vehicle and enter its details. If you add more than one, select the primary vehicle you will be driving to campus, then click Continue.
  6. Verify the permit is in your cart, review your order, accept the Terms & Conditions, and click Place Order.
  7. Save or print the confirmation page. You will also receive an "Order Confirmation – Foothill-De Anza Community College District" email with your order number and vehicle summary.

Double-check your license plate before saving. A typo or incorrect license plate number will result in a parking citation, and citations caused by incorrectly entered vehicle information will not be dismissed.

Add or update a vehicle later

  1. Sign in to the FHDA Permit Store with your CWID and password.
  2. Select Account, then Manage Vehicles.
  3. In the pop-up window, enter the vehicle's license plate, state, year, color, make, model, and type, then click +Add. If you have multiple vehicles, add them one at a time.

Rules to know

  • You may register multiple vehicles to your account, but only one registered vehicle may be parked on any district campus at a time. Vehicles parked simultaneously under the same account may each receive a citation.
  • Keep your license plate clearly visible while parked on campus.
  • Permits are required in all district lots during the day, evenings, and weekends — not just business hours.
  • A permit does not override posted restrictions such as timed spaces or staff-only (yellow) spaces. See the parking permit FAQ.
