Campus Wi-Fi for Guests and Visitors

Foothill-De Anza offers two networks for people without an FHDA account. Use Campus Guest for general public access, or Campus Visitor if you're on campus for specific business and an FHDA employee is sponsoring you.

Campus Guest (public access)

Campus Guest is open to everyone—all you need is an email address. It’s available in the Campus Center dining areas at De Anza and Foothill, the cafés at Foothill KCI and the Sunnyvale Center, and the main library on each campus. Access lasts 8 hours.

How to connect

  1. Connect to the Campus Guest network.
  2. Open a web browser. The sign-in page should appear automatically.
  3. Enter your email address and register.
  4. Make note of the password shown on screen — it's valid for 8 hours, and your email address is your login ID.

Staying connected: within the same area you won’t need to sign in again for 8 hours. If you move to another Campus Guest area, or travel between Foothill, De Anza, and Sunnyvale within those 8 hours, just sign in again with the same email and password.

Sign-in page not showing? Avoid using Chrome for the sign-in step. In another browser, go to fhda.edu (not www) to bring up the page.

Campus Visitor (sponsored access)

Campus Visitor is for people on campus for a specific business purpose—vendors or visiting community-college colleagues (not facility renters). It's available in conference rooms and classrooms. Every FHDA employee can sponsor a visitor account.

I need to request an account

You'll need your sponsor's name and FHDA email address, and they should be expecting your request so they can approve it promptly.

  1. Connect to the Campus Visitor network.
  2. Open a web browser (avoid Chrome). The request form will appear.
  3. Fill in every field, check I accept the terms of use, and click Register.
  4. Once your sponsor approves, the screen updates with your password and how long the account is active. Note the password; your email address is your username.
  5. Scroll down and click Log In. You're now connected.
I was given a username and password (event attendee)
  1. Connect to the Campus Visitor network.
  2. Open a web browser (avoid Chrome) and click Sign In Here.
  3. Enter the username and password your event sponsor provided.
  4. Check I accept the terms of use, then click Log In. You're now connected.

Are you the FHDA employee sponsoring a visitor? See the approval steps on Wi-Fi for Employees.

Troubleshooting

The sign-in page won't load

Don’t use Chrome for the sign-in step. In another browser, go to fhda.edu (without “www”) to bring up the page. In Firefox, if the page still won’t appear, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Certificates and temporarily uncheck Query OCSP responder servers…; re-check it once you’re connected.

 I’m using a Chromebook

Chromebooks have extra security that can block the sign-in page. If you see a privacy error or “Your connection is not private,” type fhda.edu in the address bar (no “www”) to load the authentication page. If a warning still appears, choose Advanced, then Proceed to securelogin.fhda.edu to reach the sign-in screen.

Still need help?

Ask any college employee for assistance. If you’re a sponsored visitor, your sponsor can also help with your account.
