Digital Parking Permits

This guide is for anyone who parks at Foothill College, De Anza College, or the Sunnyvale campus. It explains the district's digital parking permit system and links to step-by-step instructions for getting a permit.

How digital permits work

The district uses the iParq digital parking permit system. Your vehicle's license plate serves as your parking permit — there is no physical permit or decal to display. When you register your vehicle in iParq, your plate is linked to a valid permit.

Permits are required at all times, not just business hours. As of Fall 2026, digital parking permits are required in all district parking lots at Foothill, De Anza, and the Sunnyvale campus during the day, evenings, and weekends. Register your vehicle before you park.

Get your permit

  • Students, faculty, and staff — permits are free. Sign in to the FHDA Permit Store with your CWID and password and register your vehicle. See Getting a Parking Permit - Students & Employees.
  • Visitors and guests — daily permits are $3 per day, or $55 for a quarterly permit. No account is required. See Getting a Parking Permit - Visitors & Guests.
  • Employees hosting visitors — you can request visitor or guest passes through the Parking Permit tile on your MyPortal dashboard. Details are in the visitor article above.

Rules that apply to everyone

  • Your license plate is your permit — keep it clearly visible while parked on campus.
  • Enter your license plate exactly as it appears on your vehicle. Citations caused by typos will not be dismissed.
  • Only one vehicle per permit account may be parked on any district campus at a time, even if you have registered several vehicles.
  • A permit does not override posted restrictions — timed spaces, staff-only spaces (marked yellow), and accessible parking rules still apply.
