De Anza OU Migration Project Meeting Minutes
May 17, 2016 10-11 am
Attendees: Micah Roark remotely; Alex Harrell, Larry Ching, Chien Shih, Mahmood Hasan, Chris Dubeau, Katia Rostam-Yaz
- Transporter & Migration 16 hours for migration of 5/11-5/12. Estimate this same amount of time or a little
more for the "real" migration.User accounts were transported with metadata intact,
but the passwords did not survive, probably due to different hashes between the SaaS
and Enterprise servers. De Anza Web Team could log in after resetting passwords.Basic
operations verified – editing, publishing.
- Single-Sign-On (SSO)
Chris reports good progress. Should be ready for testing before the end of May.
-
Remote Login
An email request will be sent to Chien Shih to request remote login capability to the district's Enterprise OU Campus. This is to help make the case to increase the priority of developing remote login, whether by VPN or other means.
-
Banner Groups and OU Campus Permissions
The Web Team is to work with ETS to determine the mappings and default OU Campus permissions for different Banner groups. There may be a need to create new Banner groups.
-
Pilot Testing
De Anza's Web Team will find volunteers among De Anza's staff & faculty to test the new development sites that were populated by last week's migration. The Web Team will present this list of testers at the next Migration meeting on 5/24.
-
Pre-Rollout Meeting
Sometime after July 4, 2016.
-
Real Migration (Rollout)
Sometime in August.
===============
Post-Meeting:
A quick check of the user accounts in the development Enterprse matches that in the SaaS, including metadata such as last login date, etc. Total amount of users matches, so no users seem to have been dropped.
