De Anza OU Migration Project Meeting Minutes
October 23, 2015 2:15-3:15 p.m.
Attendees: Alex Harrell, Larry Ching, Rich Paul, Michael Molina remotely; Chien Shih, Deepa Prasad, Linda Koyama
- Michael had a discussion earlier this week with Larry regarding setting up a skin
for the De Anza account.
- Michael wanted to discuss the priority of the different parts of this project and
which order to do these tasks
- Create test environment for De Anza on SaaS
- Clone the De Anza account
- Convert De Anza users (over 400) to another account
- Test single sign on (Changing user names to CWIDs)
- Transport of De Anza SaaS to FHDA Enterprise server license. (Chris had requested to Micah to do a test version of the transport.)
- Priority one: To upgrade the SaaS and Enterprise versions
- Priority two: Create a test environment. There was much discussion whether to create
this in the SaaS environment, with a small number of users to test the migration to
the Enterprise account so that ETS can start testing single sign on or create the
test instance in the Enterprise environment.
- OU will need to investigate if it is possible to transport a subset of a database.
- We need to convert the usernames with their CWIDs to use as a credential to sign into
CAS prior to single sign on testing.
- Chien suggested to keep with the original plan to migrate to the enterprise environment
to test the conversion of usernames to CWIDs and to work on single sign on. Chien
will also touch base with Chris for his feedback.
- OU needs to reexamine what order everything should be done from an efficiency standpoint and touch base with their senior architects. Michael will get back to us with suggestions on what will work best. Running the transport twice would not be a problem.
