NETWORK DISTRICT-WIDE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

The goal of the Network Refresh Project is to replace all of the old ATM Alcatel network equipment. Following an extensive public bid process, in March of 2012, the Board of Trustees approved the selection of AMS.NET as the vendor to provide equipment and installation services for this phased project.

This new network will support current and future services requiring a modern network such as a CISCO TelePresence and a new Voice Over IP (VoIP) telephone system.

Phased Migration from Old to New Network Equipment Cut Over Schedule:

Phase 1 De Anza: Planned network outages to cut over to new network equipment:Fridays July 18 and July 25, 2014. Friday August 1st - contingency outage.

Buildings included in the Phase 1 De Anza network equipment upgrade: A-Quad, Admin building offices and classrooms, Flint Center, G-Quad, PE-Quad, Pressbox-Stadium, Planetarium, E-Quad, CDC, S-Quad buildings S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6

Foothill and De Anza Campuses Phase 2 and 3 Equipment replacement scheduled for August through December 2014. Specific outage days and time will be posted here at a later date.

Network Architecture change from public to private IP addressing will be performed in the first half of 2015. Staff responsible for systems and servers affected by this change, ETS staff will schedule work sessions to plan out a smooth transition.

Foothill Campus: August 2013 Phase 1 Network Equipment Refresh: All Planned work has been completed.
