Facilities Website Project Team Meeting Minutes

February 19, 2015 11 a.m.-noon

 

 Attendees:  Lester Lyons, Sally Gore, Susan Boraston, Jennifer Mahato, Esperanza Contreras, Chien Shih,  Katia Rostam-Yazdi, Deepa Prasad, Linda Koyama

  1. District Website Conversion Project info can be found at http://ets.fhda.edu/projects/district-website-conversion/index.html
    1. Chien introduced the members of the Facilities Website Implementation Team
    2. Any changes to the Facilities Implementation Team info, please let Linda know
    3. Linda and Deepa will set up a training session with the Facilities Team.
    4. Linda will set up weekly meetings for a weekly progress report and question and answer session.
  2. Reviewing other departments
    1. Common elements:  Slider (global, high impact, showcase items) tiles 
    2. Design philosophy examples
      •ETS – functional driven design
      HR – position driven design
      •Business office – by departments
      •Chancellor office – header and footer
  3. Start thinking about  your audience, who will be coming to your website and what will they be looking for.  How do you want to organize your information?
  4. Please do not make any more updates to the Manila webpages.
  5. Decisions need to be made whether to include floor plans in the new site. (Access in Myportal instead?)
  6. First come up with some preliminary slider and tile topics.  If you would like to change your department color, please let ETS know.  Then group the information in folders and update content.
  7. The original go live date for Facilities was April 30th.  Can probably move it up a month or more.
