ETS: De Anza OU Migration Meeting

De Anza OU Migration Project Meeting Minutes

January 12, 2016 10-11 am

Attendees:  Michael Monina and Micah Roark, remotely; Alex Harrell, Larry Ching, Chien Shih, Mahmood Hasan, Chris Dubeau, Katia Rostam-Yazdi, Deepa Prasad, Linda Koyama

  1. Transporter Fix Update
      1. OU is targeting to have the transporter working by February 1st.
      2. The new release 10.4 will be finalized this week and needs to be completed and applied prior to the transporter fix.  After the upgrade release,  the developer will be dedicated full time to the transporter fix.
      3. Appointments are available with the developers at the OU conference in February.
      4. Some testing will take place the week of Jan. 25th.  ETS is asking the developer to keep us in the loop on the specifics on what they are working on and issues they are addressing  so that we can keep that in mind while we are doing the testing.
      5. Once the new release is ready, they will let us know when it is available (most likely 24-36 hours after it is applied to the SaaS side) .
      6. SSO:  Passing the CAS authentication token to OU.  Can we be assured there's no problem?  Pepperdine.edu is using CAS. Hasan and Chris will touch base with Micah.
      7. Replacing usernames with CWIDs:  FHDA will provide the list of user names and corresponding CWIDs and OU will run a script to update the usernames.  ETS  will send it early to make sure it is in the proper format.
      8. Webdav:  Larry would like to continue to use Webdav to move content from development to the live site.  Only admins would need it.   Accounts would need to be created with passwords that wouldn't use CAS authentication.
      9. Take away items:
          1. By the end of the week, OU will give us a date when 10.4 will be available for ESL.
          2. By Feb. 1st the transporter will be available for testing.  (It may be ready the week of Jan. 25th.)
          3. By Feb 1st, FHDA will provide a CSV file with usernames and corresponding CWIDs to OU.
          4. De Anza will need to schedule a date for a test transport (one business day it will be down; users cannot make any edits).    It will not affect the published site.
          5. The project schedule and functional specs will be updated.
          6. One thing to consider is the process of adding new users going forward.
