Overview
On May 12, 2006 the district converted to the new version of Meeting Maker. (The version number is 8.5). This page, and any pages it links to, are designed to provide you with a quick introduction to the new Meeting Maker.
Version 8.5 is designed to simplify the scheduling process to help increase your efficiency. It enables you to view the availability of others, send out meeting invitations, accept/decline meetings directly from their calendar view, and reserve essential meeting resources such as conference rooms.
The look and feel of Meeting Maker Ver 8.5 is different then that of Ver 7.5 which has been used at the District for approximately five years. You will notice this difference immediately after logging into Meeting Maker: the Calendar View pages now have a Navigation Bar located on the left-hand side of each page. For many of the most common features and functions (scheduling a meeting, creating a banner, creating a To Do item, etc.) the Navigation Bar reduces the need to use the Menu bar and its associated drop-down menus. You are now one click away from executing many of the most frequently used functions.
Once you adjust to the different look and feel of Ver 8.5, many of the functions work just as they did in Ver 7.5. To assist you in navigating your way through Ver 8.5 and getting used to it, the following has been provided:
- Step-by-step documentation on some of the more frequently used functions that have a different look and feel and/or execution
- A link to the Meeting Maker FAQs web site

Accessing Meeting Maker
Meeting Maker Version 8.5 can be accessed from any computer at the District or on the Internet. When your computer is attached directly to the District’s network (from your office for example), you will be required to use the Meeting Maker Ver 8.5 client software.
To get version 8.5 on a Macintosh, you must download the application and install it. On a PC, the upgrade to the new client software is invoked by double-clicking on the Meeting Maker icon that is already installed on your computer. Contact the ETS/Call Center on x8324 if you do not have the Meeting Maker client icon on your desktop. More information is available on the Meeting Maker Install Page
When you are not on the District’s network, you can access Meeting Maker on the web at URL http"//meetingmaker.fhda.edu. Your user ID and password to log into the web interface is the same as for the client version.

Difference Between Client & Web Versions
There is one main difference between the client & web versions of Meeting Maker Ver 8.5: creating a meeting.
In the client version, there are two ways to create an activity or meeting: 1) Clicking on the Create Activity/Meeting link; or 2) Clicking and dragging your mouse over the time period for the activity or meeting.
In the web version, the only option available is to click on the Create Activity/Meeting link. This limitation is caused by the fact that the web page being is just a displayed image and not as interactive as the client version.
Of course, with the web version there is no "Work Offline" option. You must be connected to the internet to access your calendar.
